• El 9 de julio de 1612, se reúnen en la Parroquia de La Orotava, los beneficiados, Doña María de Gallegos y representantes de la demarcación, para tratar la cesión del terreno y el permiso para la construcción de la Parroquia. Los vecinos se comprometieron en dicha reunión, a compensarla por la cesión de sus distinguidas tierras, con otras en la zona alta del municipio.

•  El edificio actual es el resultado de numerosas ampliaciones a lo largo de los años. Cuenta con una nave con capilla mayor y dos laterales formando una cruz latina cubierta por artesonado. La espadaña originaria se reemplazó por una torre en 1915. Su interior conserva un valioso patrimonio: rica y variada imaginería, así como obras pictóricas y piezas de orfebrería de alto valor artístico.

•  Declarada monumento BIC en 2006.

•  Su Casa Parroquial, junto a la parroquia, fue construida en el s. XX –años 60- siendo de estilo regionalista sobresaliendo su balconada.

Parish Church of Saint Ursula, Virgin and Martyr

• On July 9, 1612, the beneficiaries, Doña María de Gallegos and representatives of the district met in the Parish of La Orotava to discuss the transfer of the land and the permit for the construction of the Parish. The neighbors committed at said meeting to compensate her for the transfer of their distinguished lands, with others in the upper area of the municipality.

• The current building is the result of numerous expansions over the years. It has a nave with a main chapel and two lateral sections forming a Latin cross covered by coffered Spanish ceilings. The original bell gable was replaced by a tower in 1915. Its interior preserves valuable heritage: Rich and diverse imagery, as well as pictorial works and metalwork of high artistic value.
• Designated as a monument of historical interest in 2006.
• Its parish house, adjacent to the church, was built in the 1960s featuring a prominent regionalist-style balcony.
